Our Origin
Where it all started.
It started in college — at Lovely Professional University, where every other day brought another event. Small ones — workshops, seminars, departmental socials. Medium ones — talent shows, ramp walks, cultural showcases. And the big ones — three campus fests every year, the largest of which (YOUTHVIBE) ran on a budget of around ₹5 crore. Our founder, Mr. Abeer Sekh, was a core team member on most of them.
The campus also hosted national music festivals and brand-led concert tours — Sunburn, Coke Studio MTV, VH1 Supersonic among them. By the time he graduated, he had been close to nearly every kind of event the country runs at scale.
Then COVID happened. The lockdown gave him the quiet space to look back and notice something simple — his best years had been the ones spent planning events. By then he'd already returned to Kolkata, finished an MBA, and added a postgraduate diploma in event management — turning the thing he loved into something he was formally trained to do. So at the end of 2020, Purple Crown Events was registered as a private limited company in Kolkata, and we began full operations in 2022.
The thing we kept noticing in the local market was the gap between what was promised and what was delivered. Big commitments at the start, smaller results at the end. We wanted to build a company that worked the other way around.
More often than we should admit, we've added something to an event that wasn't in the budget — a better stage backdrop, an extra round of food for the guests, a small detail nobody asked for — because once we can see how it'll look, we can't unsee it. The event has to be right, even if the margin gets thinner. That's still how Purple Crown works.
