Small celebration.
Big moment. Same care.
Birthdays, anniversaries, engagements, baby showers. Planned with the care of a wedding ten times the size.
Because the people you're celebrating don't compare event sizes. They feel how the day was put together.
Our Approach
Designed for your celebration. Not pulled from a folder.
Most planners in Kolkata treat smaller events as a smaller version of a bigger event. The same theme rotates between three birthdays. The same backdrop appears at five anniversaries. The mehendi setup someone saw at a friend's engagement turns up at theirs, slightly rearranged.
We start somewhere else. Every social event we plan is built from scratch — around the guest of honour, the host's vision, the budget, and the moment we're trying to make memorable. The vendors are sourced for you. The décor is conceptualised for you. The music, the food, the lighting, the flow of the evening — all of it shaped to this one celebration.
A 30-person dinner gets the same planning attention as a 200-person event. The scale is different. The care isn't.
Purple Crown Events plans social events across Kolkata and West Bengal — birthdays, anniversaries, engagements, baby showers, housewarmings, and festive gatherings — designed from scratch around each guest of honour, with transparent fees and one team running the celebration end-to-end.
Celebrations We Plan
Six categories. Many kinds of celebrations.
These are the categories we plan most often. The list isn't exhaustive — celebrations come in many forms, and if yours isn't named here, it doesn't mean we don't plan it.
Reunions, retirement parties, farewell dinners, school anniversaries, private dining, naming days, kitty parties, religious milestones — the list above is what we plan most. If your celebration is something else, ask us. The list is not the limit.
What Full Planning Includes
Seven things every event includes.
The scale changes between a ₹80,000 birthday and a ₹4 lakh anniversary. The list doesn't.
Concept and design
The theme, the colour palette, the mood, the flow of the evening — built around the guest of honour and the host's vision. Not picked from a folder.
Venue selection (if you don't have one)
Restaurants, lounges, banquet halls, farmhouses, rooftops, your own home — we source, shortlist, and negotiate. If you already have a venue, we plan around it.
Vendor sourcing and management
Decorators, caterers, photographers, MCs, DJs or musicians, anchors, lighting and sound teams — sourced and managed by us. You meet them. We coordinate them.
Décor, lighting, sound, and AV setup
Designed for the venue, the guest count, and the mood. Tested in advance. Installed before guests arrive.
Moment direction
The entries, the cake cut, the ring exchange, the surprise reveal, the speeches — not just set up, but choreographed and directed on the day.
Transparent budget
A line-item budget you can read. Planning fees separated from event costs. Vendor invoices visible to you. No hidden margins, no last-minute additions.
On-the-day execution
We're on the ground from setup to closing. Vendor coordination, schedule management, problem-solving — all ours. You host. We run the event.
Moment Direction
The moments that make the celebration.
Most planners set up the room. We direct what happens in it. Five moments we plan, sequence, and execute on the day — so the celebration's biggest beats actually land the way they're meant to.
Entries
The host's entrance. The guest of honour's entrance. A 60-year-old walking into their surprise birthday. A couple stepping into their engagement evening. We choreograph the timing, the lighting, the music, the reveal moment — so the entrance is felt, not just walked through.
The Cake Cut
The central moment of most birthdays and anniversaries. Lit properly. Music timed to the cut. Photographer positioned. Guests gathered without being herded. Five-minute sequence, planned to the second, executed without anyone realising it was planned.
Ring Exchange or Proposal Reveal
Whether it's a quiet ring exchange between the couple at an engagement, or a full surprise proposal in front of guests — we plan the build-up, the moment itself, the photography, and the immediate after. So the couple remembers it the way it actually felt.
Surprise Reveals
Surprise birthdays, return-of-a-loved-one moments, milestone surprises for parents. The hardest events to execute, because the entire plan has to stay hidden from the guest of honour. We've done it. We know how the timing has to work.
Speeches, Toasts, and Tributes
Anniversary speeches by children. Parent tributes at engagement parties. Retirement toasts. The moments where emotion is supposed to be the loudest thing in the room. We sequence them, cue the room, manage the audio, and give them the space they need.
Two Ways To Work With Us
Transparent fees, fully published.
Planning fees only. These are separate from the event budget — décor, catering, venue, photography, talent, and everything else that goes into the event itself.
Full Planning
Starting from ₹25,000 or 15% of event budget — whichever is higher.
We plan the entire event — concept, vendors, décor, moment direction, and on-day execution. You tell us the date and what you're imagining. We do the rest.
Partial Planning
Starting from ₹10,000 or 15% of event budget — whichever is higher.
For families who've already handled part of the event themselves. Most often: the venue and food are sorted, and we come in to plan the décor, the music, the moment direction, and the day-of execution.
A typical Partial scope: you've already booked the venue. The caterer is someone the family has used before. You don't need help with those. What you need is someone to design the décor, source the lighting and sound, plan the moments — the cake cut, the entries, the speeches — and run the event on the day. That's Partial. The scope is agreed before signing, so the fee reflects exactly what we're doing.
Beyond Kolkata
Events across Kolkata and West Bengal.
Most of our social events are in Kolkata — North, South, Salt Lake, New Town, Howrah, and the broader metropolitan area. But we plan across West Bengal too, wherever the celebration is — Siliguri, Asansol, Durgapur, Mandarmani, Digha, and smaller towns where families gather.
The model is the same as a Kolkata event. Planning fees on the same scale. Travel and accommodation for our team, where needed, are added transparently to the budget.

Frequently Asked
Six questions hosts ask before booking.
Our planning fee for Full Social Event Planning starts at ₹25,000 or 15% of the event budget, whichever is higher. For Partial Planning, it starts at ₹10,000 or 15% — whichever is higher. These are planning fees only. They cover our work — concept, vendor sourcing, moment direction, and execution. The actual cost of décor, catering, venue, and photography is the event budget, billed transparently and separately.
There's no minimum. We've planned celebrations from 20-person home dinners to 200-person engagement parties. The size of the celebration doesn't change how seriously we plan it. A 20-person 60th birthday matters just as much to the family hosting it as a 200-person engagement matters to the family hosting that. Both get the same planning standard.
Six to eight weeks is comfortable for most social events. For larger celebrations or events at popular venues (especially during Pujo or wedding season), eight to twelve weeks gives us better vendor availability and better rates. For smaller events or quick turnarounds — two to three weeks — we can usually still deliver, but vendor options narrow. The earlier we're briefed, the better the celebration.
Yes. We plan kids' birthdays — themed parties, character setups, age-appropriate entertainment, kid-friendly catering, and the kind of party flow that keeps children engaged without overwhelming the parents. The planning depth is the same as any adult event, just shaped around the child being celebrated.
Yes — and surprises are some of the most rewarding events we plan. The entire process is run through whoever is hosting the surprise, with discreet communication and a single point of contact to protect the secret. Vendor briefings, venue visits, and timeline planning all happen without the guest of honour knowing. The moment they walk in is the only moment they find out.
Moment direction is the planning, sequencing, and on-day execution of the celebration's central moments — the entries, the cake cut, the ring exchange, the surprise reveal, the speeches. We don't just set up the room and walk away. We direct the moments live — cueing the music, signaling the photographer, managing the timing, gathering guests at the right point — so the moments actually land the way they're meant to.
Why Hosts Choose Us
Four things hosts notice in the first conversation.
Moment direction, not just decoration.
Most planners set up the room and leave the actual event to chance. We direct the moments — the cake cut, the entries, the speeches, the surprise reveal — live on the day. Setup is the start of our job, not the end of it.
Same standard at every budget.
A ₹80,000 birthday gets the same planning attention as a ₹4 lakh anniversary. The scale changes the scope. The standard doesn't. We don't take small events less seriously, and we don't take large events more seriously.
Designed from scratch, not from a template.
Every social event we plan is conceptualised for that one celebration. The theme, the décor, the music, the flow — built around your guest of honour and your idea of the evening. We don't recycle setups from last month's events.
Built around your guest of honour, not vendors.
Some planners push you toward their preferred vendors regardless of fit. We work the other way. The vendors are sourced for this event, this guest of honour, this budget. If you already have a vendor you trust, we coordinate with them. Your celebration, your call.
